New open source paper in Scientific Reports shows the large soil organic carbon sequestration potential of cropland soils globally and provides a consensus on sequestration potential. The report, Global Sequestration Potential of Increased Organic Carbon in Cropland Soils , highlights that positive agricultural inventions on cropland (such as addition of organic manures, cover cropping, mulching, conservation tillage, fertility management, agro-forestry, and rotational grazing) could achieve up to 6% of the reduction emissions needed to achieve the the Paris Agreement goals.
